Our pincushions were stitched on a variety of 40-Count Linen using Needlepoint Silks over two threads of linen. In most cases, cross stitch is used throughout. The sheep pincushion has a few straight stitches. The basic pincushion border has a stitch count of 74 stitches wide by 52 stitches high.
Many finishing trims were used on our models. There are pom pom trims and rick rack from Dames of the Needle; Chennile trim and rayon ribbon from Lady Dot Creates. We also fashioned our own twisted thread cords using DMC threads. A number of our models have a Nun's Stitched border with a bit of fringing. You will find a diagram for Nun's stitch in the instructions.
