Susan's sampler is an exact reproduction of an antique English sampler stitched in 1852. Susan was a skilled stitcher who worked with silk threads on a linen ground. Our reproduction is stitched on 36-Count Legacy Linen from Picture This Plus using one strand of Needlepoint Silks over both one and two threads of linen. Cross stitch is used throughout. Using motifs found in the antique sampler, I designed a pincushion as a companion piece to the sampler. It, too, is stitched on 36 Count Legacy Linen using Needlepoint Silks. Our frame was custom made at our local craft store.
Stitch Count: 116 wide by 104 high.
Needlepoint Silks used: 293, 298, 587, 641, 692, 694, 761, 763, 911, 993.
