This sampler is an exact reproduction of an antique English or Scotish sampler with the exception of the colors used . I have listed the colors used in the original sampler should you choose to stitch it that way. My sampler was worked on 40-Count Fragile (Fra-Gee-Lay) linen from Needle & Flax using one strand of Needlepoint Silk. Cross stitch over two threads of linen is used throughout with the exception of a small amount of over-one stitches and the satin stitches used in the second dividing band.
The stitch count is: 215 Wide by 242 High.
Needlepoint Silk colors used in my reproduction are: 159, 524, 693, 707, 765, 902, 955, 992, 993.
Needlepoint Silk colors used in the original sampler are: 159, 901, 334, 694, 951, 903, 913, 692, 957.
