This listing is for a PDF/digital download, NOT a paper pattern! Elisabeth LeConte stitched her sweet sampler in 1786. I found the original sampler here in Maryland. My research indicates Elisabeth may have been born in France, though this is just one possibility. There have been LeContes living in Normandy, France, on the Island of Guernsety in the Channel Islands in the UK and in the United States. Elisabeth stitched her sampler on an uneven weave linen of about 44 count horizontally and 40 count vertically. Her sampler is much more square than my reproduction. When I unframed the original sampler, the colors on the reverse side were just slightly more vibrant than the colors on the front side. Her sampler was treated with care for the last 237 years. My reproduction was stitched on 40-count Hawthorne from Fiber on a Whim using one strand of Needlepoint Silk over two threads of linen. Cross stitch is used throughout. The frame I've used was custom made at my local craft store. NPI colors used are: 122, 152, 155A, 313, 351, 523, 543, 562, 642, 877, 951. As always, a conversion to DMC is provided. Stitch Count: 197 Wide by 167 High. Thank you!
